Our spiritual gifts and our special talents exist at the vital intersection of daily life and divine Love. A key element of our spiritual journeys is coming to appreciate our gifts and to understand that they are given to us for the benefit and building up of our community, especially our meeting/Friends church communities. They are not a personal possession and they are not fixed for all time. Ironically, we can have a difficult time recognizing our own gifts. There is an essential role for our meetings to play. The act of naming gifts is a primary act of liberation and truth telling. It is a profound act of affirmation. The act of naming gifts is also a primary act of parenting and spiritual nurture of our children.
