Join QREC’s 2026 Annual Conference ONLINE, 6-7 November! The theme is “Bless the Children: Learning peace in troubling times.” The conference will seek to connect Friends in regions as well as across our global community of practice. The schedule includes worship, the annual meeting for business, and sharing opportunities in regional/language groups that will be grounded by a message on the theme.
Effective December 2026, eligible males will be automatically registered for the military draft pool, removing the need to register manually. How do we respond as Friends, and prepare the young people in our lives and communities? This hybrid workshop is a collaboration between QREC, Quaker House, and Durham Friends Meeting.
We need to accompany children and young people in this time with care and intention. One way, in this moment, is to reaffirm that together, we can learn and practice peace.
“Why do young people disconnect from the spiritual home of their childhood?” As one of those disconnected young people who grew up in an evangelical church, I’ve spent a lot of time in my role as clerk of religious education, pondering how children might experience more connectedness in our Meeting.

The intensity of the 2024 election cycle is an experience both for adults and for the children and youth in our families and communities. Depending on their age, preschoolers to teens may be aware of the anxiety in the adults around them — and experiencing their own anxiety about the outcome of the election in November. This article shares resources and support for adults caring for children and youth.
