We need to accompany children and young people in this time with care and intention. One way, in this moment, is to reaffirm that together, we can learn and practice peace.

Easter Among Friends: Exploring the mystery with adults, children and youth
Easter calls us to focus on hard questions about death, resurrection, renewal, and Divine purpose. We may ask, “Why did Jesus go to Jerusalem?” “What was released when Jesus died on the cross?” or “What does this story teach us today?” As Quaker religious educators we also plow the ground for multigenerational learning. This conversation will also consider how to approach the Easter story and celebrations with children and youth.
Willow Working Group Nurtures Youth Inclusion
“Why do young people disconnect from the spiritual home of their childhood?” As one of those disconnected young people who grew up in an evangelical church, I’ve spent a lot of time in my role as clerk of religious education, pondering how children might experience more connectedness in our Meeting.
Thanks to Elizabeth Price, Richmond (VA) Friends Meeting for this amazing story!

Walking in the World as a Friend Community Practice Group
WALKING IN THE WORLD AS A FRIEND: ESSENTIAL QUAKER PRACTICES by Nadine Hoover provides a foundation for this Online Community Practice Group beginning Monday, Sept 16, 2024. We meet monthly on third Mondays, Sept – Nov to enrich adult Quaker Religious Education for ourselves and our meetings/churches.
Practices like journaling and spiritual companions help us live into the roles of minister, steward and witness, as we tend the inward life (minister), align our outward lives to our inward life (steward), and let our lives speak and tell truths we know, publicly (witness).
Spiritual Companion Group Gatherings
These gatherings are for people who meet as companions (of 2-4 members) mutually committed to experiment with allowing the Living Spirit to guide and shape their lives, as expressed in their own words.
Valiant Together: Sharing Quaker Religious Education Support and Resources
